Polyurethane Sealed Surfaces
Bathrooms & Wet Areas
Microcement is a hard-wearing, durable surface built to last in wet areas — all it needs is simple, consistent care. Sealed with a solvent-based polyurethane finish, it is built to perform.
The golden rule: always use neutral, pH-balanced cleaners to keep the surface looking its best for years to come.
The sealer is your surface's armour. Protect it and it will protect everything beneath.

After each shower, rinse the walls and floor with warm water to flush away soap residue and body oils before they dry and build up.
Daily habit that prevents most build-up issuesOnce or twice per week, apply a pH-neutral cleaner diluted as directed onto the surface with a soft microfiber cloth or mop. Work in gentle circular motions.
Never apply concentrated cleaner directly onto a dry surfaceRemove all traces of cleaner with clean warm water. Residual cleaner left to dry can cause dull patches or streaking on the sealed surface.
Two rounds of rinsing is better than oneRun a soft squeegee down the walls and across the floor to clear standing water. This prevents limescale spots and is the easiest daily habit to stick to.
Especially important in hard-water areas- Use only soft microfiber cloths or mops
- Dilute all cleaners as recommended
- Rinse surfaces thoroughly after cleaning
- Squeegee walls and floor after each shower
- Ventilate the bathroom to reduce humidity
- Address spills promptly before they set
- Test new products in a small hidden area first
- Use acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon, descalers)
- Use bleach or chlorine-based products
- Scrub with abrasive pads or brushes
- Let soapy water sit and dry on the surface
- Use high-pressure jet washers
- Allow limescale to build up untreated
- Use wax polishes not formulated for polyurethane
Apply a warm neutral cleaner solution and allow to dwell for 2–3 minutes before gently agitating with a soft cloth. Repeat if needed. Regular squeegeeing after showers is the best prevention.
A diluted citric acid solution (1–2%) can be used occasionally for spot treatment of stubborn deposits. Rinse immediately and thoroughly, then follow with a neutral cleaner rinse.
Rinse and squeegee the surface to prevent mineral deposits and soap build-up.
Full clean with neutral cleaner, thorough rinse, and squeegee.
Apply a fresh coat of solvent-based polyurethane sealer to restore full protection.
