How this calculator works — Each amount shown is the pigment to mix into one full 1kg tub of the texture you selected. Use the tabs to see it for a single tub, per kg, or scaled to a 15kg bucket. Pigment formulas are based on M grain as the reference. Different grain sizes carry a slightly different base tone, so the calculator adjusts automatically. For S grain and L grain, +3.5 g/kg White is added. For XL and XXL grain, +3.5 g/kg White, +0.3 g/kg Yellow, and +0.05 g/kg Red are added.

Even with adjusted formulas, different grain sizes will always look slightly different from one another. The way light catches a coarser surface means the same colour can appear warmer, cooler, lighter or deeper depending on texture — this is a natural characteristic of the material, not a mixing error.

Always make a sample board for client reference before starting any job. This ensures the client has approved the exact colour and texture combination they will receive.

How this works — Varnish W mixes at a ratio of 5:1 (Part A : Part B). Consumption is up to 100g per sqm of mixed product per coat, so this figure gives you the maximum you'll need for one coat — mix a fresh batch for each additional coat rather than combining them upfront, since working time is limited once mixed. Apply with a short-nap roller, crossing directions to avoid marks; the product can be diluted 15–20% with water if needed.

The sample pack's 500g Part A + 100g Part B mixes at exactly this 5:1 ratio — enough for roughly 6 sqm per coat, or 3 sqm over the recommended two coats.

Safety — good ventilation, protective glasses and gloves are recommended when mixing and applying. Walkable after 12 hours; full cure in 7 days.
