- Make sure the board is clean, dry, level and free of dust or grease.
- Prime. Apply Primer or Primer Quartz as supplied — just give the bottle a shake, no mixing needed. Roller, brush or spray. Wait at least 30 minutes before continuing.
- Base coat. Apply one coat of OneRock L or XL Base with a metal trowel, working under some pressure. Leave to dry 8–12 hours, then lightly sand (24–40 grit) and vacuum.
- Finish coat. Apply one coat of your chosen OneRock S/M/L/XL/XXL texture and colour — metal trowel for M/L/XL/XXL, plastic trowel for S. Leave 6–8 hours, then sand (120 grit for M/L, 220 for S) and vacuum.
- Seal. Apply two coats of Varnish W (mixed 5:1) with a short-nap roller, crossing directions to avoid marks. Walkable after 12 hours; full cure in 7 days.
How this works — formulas are dosed per kg of OneRock M as the reference. Coarser grains have a greyer, cooler base, so L, XL and XXL automatically get +3.5 g/kg White to compensate — XL and XXL also get +0.3 g/kg Yellow and +0.05 g/kg Red. Mix pigment into the tub thoroughly before trowelling.
Always make a sample board for client reference before starting any job.

How this works — Varnish W mixes at a ratio of 5:1 (Part A : Part B). Consumption is up to 100g per sqm of mixed product per coat, so this figure gives you the maximum you'll need for one coat — mix a fresh batch for each additional coat rather than combining them upfront, since working time is limited once mixed. Apply with a short-nap roller, crossing directions to avoid marks; the product can be diluted 15–20% with water if needed.
The sample pack's 500g Part A + 100g Part B mixes at exactly this 5:1 ratio — enough for roughly 6 sqm per coat, or 3 sqm over the recommended two coats.
Safety — good ventilation, protective glasses and gloves are recommended when mixing and applying. Walkable after 12 hours; full cure in 7 days.
